The design of this landscape for an NHL athlete and lifestyle influencer couple, along with their family, began as a way of elevating the natural character of this Ponderosa pine ecosystem. The home rested on a naturalistic piece of land that the owners fell in love with. Creating a strong connection to and elevating the distinct natural features and views was part of our siting strategy for the extensive renovation, with new accessory structures forming a spine on which the rest of the landscape elements celebrated. The hardscape elements extended the building into land while large areas of the property's vegetation were restored and diversified. The softscape plantings that connect to the house blend into the wilder edges of the property, blurring the boundary between the cultivated perennial garden and the natural landscape.
