CURIO
HOUSE

Situated in Greater Vancouver’s Fraser River delta and backed by the Pacific Coast Rocky Mountains, this project emphasizes a microcosm of the greater landscape through material sensibilities and Feng shui landscape methods. Designed to provide a stroll garden experience layered with calculated rest moments for pause and reflection, A matrix of perennial grass plantings and emerging subtle blooms carpet the landscape, releasing quiet expanses of fine aggregate that make up the informal circulation. Mature trees and oversized sculptural boulders anchor the landscape and architecture to their context. Special care was taken in the creation of bespoke built-in furniture and landscape folly, along with an acoustic water boulder that adds to the tranquil atmosphere.
